A very special someone is having a birthday today. Meet Cade.
Cade is my super cool, totally fabulous nephew. And he is turning one today. I can’t believe he is already a year old. It seems like just yesterday we were up at the hospital meeting him for the first time. Ummm – you know what I just realized? I’m turning into that person - you know, the “adult” that says stuff like, I remember when you were only -this- big; or I used to change your diapers (luckily I haven’t actually had to do this too often); or my personal favorite, One time when you were a newborn, you threw up on your Uncle Allen, and it was really gross funny. Oh gosh… I should have known stuff like this would happen once I turned 27.
Although we do have a niece and nephew courtesy of my oldest brother, they live in another state. This is really our first time experiencing a baby in the family. And let me tell you, as someone who does not have children of my own - it’s awesome. It has been so amazing to watch him grow over the past year. In what seems like an instant, he went from a teeny tiny newborn to a funny, energetic little person. I am looking so forward to seeing him grow and walk and talk this next year. Jacquelyn and Todd be warned, Allen and I are ready to spoil the crap out of him.
