What a difference a week makes! In seven days Jill and I have gone from cold snow to warm sand. Our super-cool friend Ashley D. is hosting us for the weekend. The weather is beautiful, and I wish you were here. To be continued…
Update: Our “quick” trip to the beach turned out to be a wonderful mini vacation. I L-O-V-E being on the beach and basking in the warm sun. It was exactly the thing I needed after the dreadfully cold winter we’ve had. Temperatures were in the mid-70′s during the day, and we were able to wear short sleeved shirts and flip flops for the first time in months. We even made it out to the beach for a couple of hours, and I have the sunburn to prove it.
I’d like to insert a public service announcement here and say… Kids, please do what your mom says and always wear sunscreen. The end. Although I love to sit in the blazing sun, I am a fanatic about sunscreen. I always put it on 15 minutes before even thinking about going to the pool or beach, and lecture others about why they should too. However, I’ve been inside by the fire all winter in my layers of cuddl duds and flannel pajamas, so I am incredibly pale and sensitive to the bright sun. No amount of sunscreen could have prevented the lobster look I’m currently sporting.
