We first met Paige and Jeremy almost five years ago. Allen worked as their mortgage broker when they bought their first house and since they didn’t have any family in town, he offered to help move them in. That’s just how he rolls. They lived a few streets over from Allen and his brother for a couple of years, and the rest is history.
Paige and Jeremy are expecting their first child in June. I was thrilled that Paige wanted to have maternity pictures made and even more so that she asked me to take them. Last week when she left a comment here on the blog that said, “…now if you can get my giant two year old to behave! This should be one of your more interesting shoots…” I literally laughed out loud. It’s not that Jeremy is uncooperative, we just knew he was unlikely to sit still and pose sweetly like a maternity photography session normally requires. But you know what? He did a great job, and I’m very happy with how the pictures turned out.

They have decided not to find out what they are having. I think that is such a fun idea. Even with ultrasounds and 4-D imaging, it is life’s one true surprise. What do you think the baby will be? Well, besides loved and adored by all.

You wouldn’t know it by the pictures, but we were trying our best to out-shoot a major storm that was rolling in. We finished off the last shots and got back in our cars just as it started to sprinkle. Not five minutes later the bottom totally fell out. There were severe thunder storms for the next several hours, and a few areas had tornado sightings — oh the drama! Luckily, the overcast skies provided great lighting, and we got all the great shots we wanted.

When we were leaving, Jeremy said that he was glad there would be no more pictures for a while. Oh dear, should someone tell him that years of family pictures are only just beginning?
