This is my best little buddy, Jackson. He turned one year old a couple of weeks ago — my, my, the little man is growing up. I called his mom from the beach to wish him a happy birthday. But I was three days too early. Oops! Hey, better early than never, right? For the record, I did make a re-wish on the right day.
Jackson’s first birthday party was held this past weekend. Allen and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. And neither would my camera.

Hey Jack. You’re so cute. I’m sorry that you didn’t like sitting in your high chair with everyone staring at you. I bet your cake was good though. I ate some of the grown-up cake, and it was delicious. (Can Thomas the Tank Engine cake be for ”grown-ups” or did I accidentally cut in front of a kid to get a piece?). Hey Jack, before you start to cry, can you tell me how old you are today?

It’s ok. You can think about it for a minute.

That’s RIGHT! You’re one. I know you totally understood me and did that on purpose. You are so smart. Now go back to eating your fingers. I love you.
