I love maternity sessions. They are one of my favorite kinds of photography to shoot. You know, along with kids, engagements, weddings, pets, the garden, my bunny Floppy Ears, etc. Ha! Yes, I really did take pictures of Floppy Ears once when I needed to practice a hard lighting situation before a session. Hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!
Like I was saying, maternity sessions are #1, so I was stoked when Mandi contacted me a few weeks back about taking some photos for her. She and Jared are expecting their first baby, a son named Jacob Cole, later this summer. I love how motherly and etheral this first one turned out (look at me using big words!). How gorgeous is this momma-to-be?

You know us photographers, always talking about finding good light…. well we were taking pictures at the perfect time of day for the perfect kind of light. They say that when you see sun flare spots on in your image, you are are seeing angels. In this case, I think Mandi and Jared would agree.

We had a lot of fun roaming the neighborhood with the expectant parents. Jared was more than happy to step back so his wife and baby-to-be could have our undivded attention, which gave us plenty of time for the fun angles and detail shots. Reason #14 why I love maternity sessions: The baby bump. Mandi was rockin’ a super cute one. Pregnancy looks great on her! And look, the angels are back.
