We flew to Traverse City, Michigan this past weekend to attend a surprise 30th birthday party for our friend Matt. It was our first trip to Michigan, and we had a blast. Of course I took about 6,000 pictures like I always do, and I plan to share those with you later this week. One of my favorite things about taking pictures are some of the super fun series that are created by just snap, snap, snapping all the time instead of lining people up and taking one shot. I have had some really good laughs by quickly scrolling through a series and watching the still images in motion.
I almost always end up cutting out the photos leading up to or following the one good shot because they just can’t be appreciated without seeing the whole show. I had seen animation before, but had no idea how to put the images together in order to make it work. There are so many fun shots from our trip this weekend that I couldn’t stand it any longer. I looked it up and gave it a try. I have to say it was a lot easier than I expected!
First, one still shot to introduce the line up. These girls are the backbone of our travel group. We have all been friends for so many years, I’ve lost count. Our husbands get along so well they probably all think they’re the reason we’re friends. Left to right: April, Ashley, me, Jill and Mandi. Everytime I’m with them for a weekend my face and sides hurt from laughing so much. It’s ridiculous.

I’ll try to add some descriptions with each of these so you don’t get dizzy and throw up from watching them.
I don’t even know what was going on here. Somehow we made our way over into the neighbor’s yard and had a little photoshoot. I got in on it at some point, but these two images were my favorites. The facial expressions and genuine laughter are priceless.

Jill and Nathan are getting married next Spring. This started out as a, “Hey – come here let me take a picture,” but Nathan wanted a little smooch first. I normally would have kept either the first or last image, but when you string them all together, I think it turned into a fun little clip.

In all fairness to my friends who let me write about them and post pictures of them to my hearts content, here is one of me. I can’t believe I’m about to share this with the world… In my defense, Mandi is the biggest ham I know – uninhibited raw talent, if you will. She totally encouraged the whole thing.

So there you have it. That is what is like behind the scenes everytime the camera is out. I am seriously sorry if I nauseated you with the constant motion. I couldn’t share one and not the others! Just don’t stare at for 30 minutes like I have while writing this post! Up next, the full recap of our trip to beautiful Traverse City, MI.
