I first met Crystal back in June when she contacted me about their April 2010 wedding. We talked at length about the the wedding venue, the dress, the flower girl, the planning… but her eyes lit up in a new way each time she mentioned Drew. She and I have have kept in touch through Facebook and e-mail since then, but on Sunday we were able to meet up for an engagement session. And I was finally able to meet Drew! Let me tell you – these two are precious. Crystal is gorgeous and Drew is such a southern gentleman. I had so much fun with them. They were such good sports despite the heat and stifling humidity, and I think we got some great shots. Meet Crystal and Drew:
Smile. Kiss. Wipe. Guess he wasn’t much up for the lipstick… Ha! – I love it.

There was this really cool red barn on the property where we shot. It was being renovated, but this door was all I needed! This is definitely a favorite.

Drew told me over and over that he didn’t like to have his picture taken. You’d never know it from this next one would you? Naturals I tell you…

Did I tell you she was gorgeous? I think I told her oh, like, five times how pretty her eyes are. They are this super clear blue-green color. Crystal, you are going to make a seriously beautiful bride. Drew better watch OUT!

Drew left me a sweet message on Facebook yesterday saying I got more smiles from him than most do. I instantly thought of this picture. Drew, you didn’t even REALIZE how much fun you were having did you? Definitely another favorite.

If you live in Birmingham you know that the past few weeks have been one rain storm after the other, after the other, after the other. I seriously don’t know how it could rain one. more. drop. But it continues to pour. Our little town has been under flash flood warnings for days. With rivers beyond capacity, a lot of the property has turned into muddy ponds. It rained a good bit on Sunday, but I was holding out hope that we would still be able to shoot. I selfishly asked God for a favor and He obliged! The rain cleared for a few hours and blue skies poked their heads around the clouds. Look at that sky!

The sneak peek photo from yesterday…

Just as we had all reached our it’s-way-too-hot-to-go-on limit, I spotted this tractor. We grabbed just a few quick shots, but I love them. They totally wrapped up the whole “country” feel we were going for, don’t you think?

I think Crystal and Drew are my new favorite people. I am really looking forward to their wedding next year! Help by show this sweet couple some love by leaving a comment below. If they get 15 comments, I’ll throw in a free 5×7 from their session.
