I’m just going to be honest – Geography was never my best subject. I probably couldn’t fill in a blank map of the United States if I had to. I do fine with my southern sister-states, but when we get out into the mid-west and the teeny states that make up New England, I’m lost. When I signed up for a workshop in Little Rock, Arkansas recently, I had to consult Google to set me straight. Don’t get me wrong – I had Arkansas down pat, it was the Little Rock part that threw me off.
Sadly, the only thing I know about Little Rock is that it was home to Bill Clinton before he was elected President, and Collin Raye had a song titled for the city back in the early nineties about a recovering alcoholic. Unfortunately, our short trip over to Little Rock probably won’t involve history museums and learning centers, but I’ll still try to bring back a few nuggets of knowledge for your inquiring minds.
Last night, Allen and I packed up the Jeep and made the six hour drive from Birmingham to Little Rock so that I could attend Becker’s “A Crash Course in Kicking Ass” photography workshop. I’m really excited about today and hope that I’ll bring back with me new ideas and fresh perspective for my business. I’m sure I’ll have tons to share with you about the trip as well.
For my fellow geography-challenged friends, here is a little illustration so you’ll know where to find me.
