I can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore this family. And not just because they are good friends of ours! They are the most genuinely kind, easy-going, fun-to-be-around family. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they are all gorgeous and 100% photogenic!
We got together this week for Rosston’s six month pictures. To watch him grow, take a look at his maternity, newborn and three month photos too. (I’m not sure why I showed so few pictures back then. I much prefer the long posts now with lots and lots of pictures, don’t you?) When April and I began discussing the session, I had one request. I wanted to have the session in their beautiful neighborhood. Their maternity photography session is still one of my all time favorites, and I wanted to capture some of that again now that Rosston is here. I have to tell you. I am in love with this entire session. Every time I think I have picked a favorite, I see another and claim it instead. I challenge you to try and pick yours… Go!

The last time I photographed Rosston, he had mastered head holding and was just beginning to learn to sit. This time sitting was a breeze, but we’ve moved on to standing. Isn’t he so smart?

But his little chubster legs couldn’t hold up for long, so we mostly sat.

Oh good heavens, I love this one. After weeks and weeks of rain, we had the most beautiful weather for our session. The late afternoon light was gorgeous.

I have to say that I think six months is my favorite age to photograph babies. Rosston has the sweetest expressions, a curious personality and JUST ENOUGH immobility so that I don’t have to chase him! The three of us did have to act like dorks to keep his attention though. Baby wrangling is hard work!

At the end of our session, we walked out to the pier in front of April and Scott’s home. The light was uh-mazing and we captured some of my favorite images ever. How stinkin’ cute are those baby leggies? I love them!

I am obsessed with these next two. I guess it is the photographer in me, but the light, the lines, the colors, the sweet baby – they’re all absolutely perfect.

We had such a fun little shoot, but I’m pretty sure we wore sweet Rosston out. By the end he was so over our attempts to oogle and get his attention that nothing was working. No matter, I still think this is a great shot!

April, Scott and Rosston, thanks for another GREAT session. You guys seriously rock, and I can’t wait to finish up Rosston’s first year with more great photos!
