I photographed THE CUTEST little boy and his sweet family this weekend. It was a little colder than expected, so at the last minute we moved the session indoors. Although outdoor natural-light photography is my favorite way to shoot, I ended up really liking the backdrop of Chapman’s nursery and his parents room. Chapman has such a sweet little personality and mom and dad were super laid back through the whole session. It really shows in their photographs, and the more I see, the more I love these images.

Like with all babies, it took Chapman a little while to get warmed up. He wore his super-serious face for the first few shots.

When we moved over into his mom and dad’s room, the true personality came pouring out. Look at that smile! He was so happy to be up on their bed crawling around. He wandered out to the end of the bed, and we had a nice long game of peek-a-boo.

Chapman is just learning to walk, but can really move around the room if there are things to hold onto. It was so cute watching his little legs wobble and give out after a few minutes of standing – walking is hard work! When standing and walking got old, he crawled around like a pro.

I love this. Can’t you just hear a little squeal of excitement coming from him?

Oh dear. You should have seen these little lamb booties. They were a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e. We finished off the session with a little diaper and booties shoot, and they turned out to be some of my favorites from the day.

Although this was the first time I shot an entire session indoors, it definitely won’t be the last. Babies change so quickly in their first year, so waiting until the spring when the weather warms up may not always be the best thing. For anyone wanting a nursery session, this option is on the table!
