cole for christmas

October has come and gone and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Around here, the start of November gives license to begin all things Christmas. Is that just a southern thing, or is it like that in other parts of the country too? My portrait sessions are in full swing, and I officially took my first Christmas photos of the season with this sweet little reindeer.

If you’ve been following my blog long, you’ll remember Cole from this session. Or this album. Or this session. He is one of my favorite kids to photograph. He is all smiles and always so willing to have my camera in his face. He has this cute habit of sucking his three middle fingers which meant that his Mom and Dad were constantly pulling them from his mouth so we could get a finger-free photo. I think he was biting down on them one of those times and this happened:

In the year and half that I have known Cole, I’ve never seen him cry. I wanted to make a sympathetic sad face and laugh all at the same time. Luckily Dad knew what to do to get him in good spirits again. There’s nothing like hanging upside down to make you happy!

Cole hasn’t started walking quite yet, but he was all over the place. I love this next one. It is perfectly untraditional, yet so very real. Whats the moral of this story? – Ditch the traditional photos people! You won’t regret it.

Cole got such a kick out of being “flown” around. He just laughed and laughed. I love that kid!

We got bunches more, but I won’t share them quite yet. This session is destined for Christmas card greatness, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise…
