You may remember Jill from her now infamous ”will you be my bridesmaid?” cards. The wedding planning is moving along nicely and now one more big thing can be checked off the list – engagement photos! We recently took a trip down to Auburn University for their long-awaited engagement session. Jill and Nathan both went to Auburn, but didn’t meet until we were down on The Plains for a game a few years ago. It’s actually amazing that they DIDN’T meet while we were in school. They have several friends in common and hung out at a lot of the same places. As big Auburn fans, the university was the perfect location for the engagement photos. We started out at an Auburn landmark, Samford Hall.

Helllo gorgeous. Jill has a stunning engagement ring, so I made sure to take lots of pictures of it. This is my favorite.

Nathan wanted to see if we could get Jill up in the tree. He climbed up at first and tried to pull her up with him, but it was really high. He ended up pushing her up by herself instead. I was having flashes of another trip to the emergency room, so we made it quick. She got on his shoulders to get down, and I caught this awesome expression.

After a quick wardrobe change, we headed back out into the last little bit of daylight. Fall in Alabama came fast and winter seems to be moving in even faster. I’m so happy that we were able to get some fall colors in the background before all of the leaves are gone.

Such a great picture of my pretty friend. I forgot what blue eyes she has until I was all up in her grill with my camera!

I was going to take another ring shot, and Jill caught me by surprise instead. Haha!

Each time we moved locations I would “test my light” and make sure that I had the correct exposure. They were just hanging out waiting on me to get ready and this is what happened. I think Nathan was actually blinking, but this photo is HOT business.

As we walked back to the car, Nathan offered to take this photo for us. Please know that I KNOW my hair is in desperate need of a cut and color. Plus, I’d been working all day, ok? I’m sorry! Ashley, your assistance is seriously needed ASAP.

I had so much fun at this session. Not only was I photographing two beautiful people, but I was able to spend the afternoon on our old stomping grounds with my very best friends. I literally laughed until I cried during some sets of pictures over things that I’d never tell here… If you were wondering, no, I am not her wedding photographer too. That’d be kind of hard seeing as how I’m in the wedding and all. Jill has hired another amazing photographer for her wedding day, but I’m honored that I was still able to contribute in such a big way.
