After graduating from college in 2004, I took a post-graduate internship with a high-profile public relations firm in New York City. Looking back, I think I was chasing the experience of New York City more than the work experience, but that’s another story for another time. My supervisor at the firm was the administrative assistant for the co-principal (a fancy word for co-owner) so my days were spent packing up goody bags for folks like Leonardo DiCaprio and chasing down must-have items to woo Matt Perry.
There were tons of nitpicky rules we had to follow, like only typing with a certain font (yes, I’m serious) and only writing notes on a certain notecard with a certain brand of certain color pen (yes, I’m serious). There was a big to do while we were there because another girl sent a letter to a client using a tan manila envelope instead of a plain white one. I remember being scared. Even though some of the things seemed borderline ridiculous, I was intrigued. Who chose that font? That color? That style? In my own detail-oriented, consistency-obsessed way, I secretly kind of dug it.
Launching my new Web site back in September was the first item on a long list of things I want to do to enhance my brand visually. In between sessions this fall, I have been working on all new collateral to match the new look. There are a few key elements that still need to be finalized, but we’re almost there. One piece that IS complete is my new CD packaging. I had something very specific in mind for the product I wanted to offer and was super excited when I found it. My friend, and mega-talented graphic designer, Kristen, came up with a fabulous amandapair.com-inspired design. And voila! - my new CD packaging for my 2010 weddings was born.

Inside each case is a copyright release form and a CD of high-resolution images. I love how the feel of my Web site carries over into whole package.

I am so happy with how the CD package turned out. It is the ultimate reflection of the simple, clean, colorful images I want for all of my clients. I may not always whip out my teal-colored Sharpie, but don’t be surprised if you see more and more of it in everything I do. In my own detail-oriented, consistency-obsessed way, I secretly kind of dig it.
