tanner and john-tyler | birmingham botanical gardens

I recently had the chance to photograph this super-cute brother and sister. The first thing Tanner said to me when she got out of the car was “Look at my sunglasses!” referring to a snazzy pair of pink Tinkerbell shades. I knew right then that it would be a good session. John-Tyler was a little slower to warm up, but as long as he was next to his big sister it was all smiles and giggles. With some brothers and sisters you really have to persuade them to sit next to each other and interact, but Tanner and John-Tyler had no problem playing and being sweet to one another.

I first met Tanner and John-Tyler last December when I photographed the entire family. This time it was just the kiddos. It is amazing how quickly they grow! This time last year, John-Tyler was just learning to stand. Now he runs everywhere. He still has that same sweet look and those twinkling eyes though!

Tanner has grown so much too. She is looking less like a toddler and more and more like a little girl. And she is beautiful to boot. She and I were running for most of our time together, but every once in a while when we stopped to wait on her mom and brother, I could catch her like this:

I love how John-Tyler’s sweet little face is poking around in this next one. He wanted to be right where his sister was the whole time. If she ran, he ran. If she sat, he sat. If she dipped her fingers into the freezing cold fountain, so did he. It was the cutest thing ever.

It was so cool to meet up with these sweet children again and see how much they have grown and changed. I couldn’t resist pulling up some of the images from last year to compare. They are so different, but still the same. I look forward to many more years of watching these children grow!
