I have often said how important I think it is to take family photographs even when the kids are grown up. This family proves me right! When Kristin called me to set up a family session, I was excited. The plan was to take photos at her parents home which is situated on a beautiful piece of land. It rained all weekend, threatening our outdoor plans. Luckily, the rain let up a few hours before we were supposed to meet and although the ground was too wet to explore the whole property, I love what we were able to capture.

Kayla, Kristin and Josh coordinated their styles perfectly for the shoot! It was one of the very first things I noticed. (I have a feeling that the older sisters may have had a hand in helping Josh though!) It wasn’t the only thing I loved about this family though. Kayla and Kristin are beautiful girls with beautiful personalities. They chatted up Allen and me throughout the whole session making us feel so welcomed. Josh is a perfect southern gentleman and was such a good sport through the whole thing. I think I may have even caught a smile or two out of him…

Although we took lots of photos of the three of them together, this little booger was the main attraction! Um, I’m sorry, but how stinkin’ cute are those little boots?! Little man was stylin’!

Anytime I come across an old family photo album, I like to slowly browse the photos reflecting on the people in them. What were they thinking, feeling, doing at this time in their life? What kind of hopes and dreams did they have for their lives and the lives of their children? Did they know that I would be such a pain in the butt as a teenager? I’m serious. These are the things I think about in my spare time…
So, you know what I love about these next few photos? I love that one day Brayden may look back at them and think to himself how beautiful his mom looks, how young his Aunt Kristin and Uncle Josh once were and know that in the short seven months that he has been with them, he is so unconditionally loved by this group of people.

Brayden had a quick wardrobe change into his precious Christmas outfit. I think it is great that we were able to get a few individual shots of him in honor of his first Christmas. He is one seriously sweet baby.

I know it’s kind of random to throw this one in at the bottom, but it was the last frame taken, and I love it. So there.
