#20… check!

I have another big item marked off my list. I finally upgraded my cell service/phone a few weeks back and bought Verizon’s new DROID smartphone. I have had my old Samsung flip phone for, oh I don’t know… five years or so. When the iPhone came out I wasn’t really interested in an upgrade. I could call and text all I wanted with my flip phone, and the service was mega-cheap. But in the last few months I had grown increasingly frustrated with my old phone. The beautiful siren of internet connection and access to e-mail began to sing to me and eventually lured me in. Although the switch meant breaking my long-term relationship with T-Mobile to join Verizon, I haven’t looked back for one second. It’s not a iPhone (gasp!), but to be honest the AT&T service was a big deterrant in my decision. I’m now an official card-carrying member of being constantly plugged in, and in the process have marked “#20. Upgrade my cell service/phone.” off my 2010 to do list. Yay!

Shelia - I agree with Deb. The first thing I noticed was the really cute fisherman. I love your screensaver!February 1, 2010 – 9:51 pm

robin - steven loves his droid and now you and i can talk for free :)January 28, 2010 – 9:59 pm

Julia - Beautiful pictures! Nothing prettier than a pregnant woman. :)January 28, 2010 – 10:45 am

Allen - And not to mention, Luke Wilson and those terrible AT&T commercials really get on my nerves….. just saying what you all were thinking. :)January 26, 2010 – 11:11 am

deb - We all know I am tech challenged… Must be why all I saw was that cute guy on the background screen.January 25, 2010 – 5:08 pm

Amanda - Jenn- I still had a month or two left with T-Mobile, but decided it was worth it. You should look into the NexusOne Google phone. It is for T-Mobile customers. I’ve heard good things, but T-Mobile wasn’t willing to work with me on an upgrade. That’s why I gave them the boot.January 25, 2010 – 12:22 pm

jennrob - I am so glad you posted this! I’ve thought about switching to AT&T for the iphone and had not even thought about switching to Verizon…but based on the negative feedback about AT&T, I think I will choose Verizon. Thanks! P.S. I’m a tech-nerd and am freakishly jealous about your new phone. My contract doesn’t expire until Aug-10! :(January 25, 2010 – 11:14 am

Ravyn Stadick - I love Verizon. I have a smart phone, but I don’t pay for all of the bells and whistles. I thought about switching to ATT for the iPhone, but I’ve heard amazing things about the Droid.January 25, 2010 – 10:26 am

Coe - I was a loyal Verizon girl until my techy husband wanted an IPhone. So in January (’09), we switched. Well, due to very unpredictable service and dropped calls…Hello Verizon, we’re back!!! I love being back with them and have had very reliable service since October. It took a few tries to find a great Smart Phone. I am now a bonafide Blackberry fan (I got mine before the DROID launched). Welcome to Verizon, Amanda; hope you’re as happy as I am!January 25, 2010 – 10:01 am

Maggie - Love it! This is also one of my goals for the year. I love my old phone but I have a feeling I will be getting a new one soon!January 25, 2010 – 9:20 am

Melissa - congrats! I am ready for my upgrade to be available! In may I WILL own a smart phone. Right now I own a “not so smart, won’t keep a signal, gets dropped a lot” phone!January 24, 2010 – 8:35 pm
