bulldog, a story of rags to riches

One of the cool things about having friends who live at the beach is that they actually LIVE at the beach. It is the place they work, go to church and grocery shop just like the rest of us do at home. So although the boys fish and us girls soak in the rays when we can, the actual sand and surf is a small part of our time down there. We spend a lot of our time at their cute little house hanging out with them and their fearless K-9. Meet Bulldog.

Bull is a recent addition to the family. For the first three years of his life, Bull was a junk yard dog living in the scrap yard where Mike works. Somewhere along the way Mike took to Bull and started bringing him home on the weekends. Ashley resisted at first — he was a JUNK YARD DOG afterall. But little by little he began to grow on Ashley as well and was adopted into their family full time. The best part of Bull’s rags to riches story is that he is the sweetest, most well-behaved dog. He has a bark that could scare a grown man, but is so loving and seemingly appreciative of the attention we all dote on him.

We spent Saturday afternoon gathered in the living room watching Real Housewives of New York City (it’s sad, I know) and taking turns commanding Bull, occasionally playing chase with him around the living room. Even though isn’t post isn’t literally “beach” related like the last, I think these images are the most true representation of our weekend at the beach. Oh, and don’t tell Mike, but I love that dog.

Amanda - @Randy – I was shooting with Canon 5DmkII using the 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens. The focal length varies, but all were shot at 2.8 1/60 using natural light and a high ISO – like maybe 800 or 1000. I hope that helps!March 19, 2010 – 8:53 am
