Lauren and Michael are high school sweethearts turned soon-to-be husband and wife. How cool is that? After TEN years of dating, they are finally tying the knot this summer. We met up in Tuscaloosa at the Cypress Inn Restaurant earlier this week for their engagement session. Lauren told me that they had been to the very same restaurant for Junior Prom. I love it!
Before we snapped the first frame, Lauren and Michael stood side by side, arms wrapped around each other in their best candid pose. Lauren laughed and told me that every photo they had of themselves looked just like that. I think we found her and Michael a few new poses and then some! Time to take out all those old same-exact-pose photos out of the frames and make way for some new ones. Enjoy!

The back patio at Cypress Inn Restaurant leads down to the water. It is such a beautiful location and was perfect for our session. Michael is an avid outdoorsman and loves to fish. If I’ve learned anything from my fisherman husband over the past few years, I’m pretty sure that Michael was more interested in what big catch might be lurking in the water than he was with what we were doing on dry land!

Lauren and Michael are seriously the cutest thing ever. It was so much fun to watch them interact and get a glimpse into their personality as a couple. I think I said “Awwww!” about 60 times while we were shooting. I’ve got to get some new reactions! Although they were admittedly a little unsure of the whole “engagement session” thing at first, they totally loosened up by the end and were complete naturals.

At the edge of the water was a small pier. From now until forever when I think about Cypress Inn and this engagement shoot, these next image are the ones I am going to remember. They completely embody the feel of the location and the couple, and I love them!

Lauren, you’re gorgeous. The end.
