amanda pair | the promo

I love that my blog allows me to showcase my favorite photos from each of my sessions and share my life with all of you wonderful people. It is chock full of images of what happens in FRONT of the camera, but lately I have been wanting a way to showcase what happens BEHIND the camera. Sure, every now and then I have posts about sharing my camera with a three year old, or having my husband tag along to a session, but my blog is static. Static meaning that there is no sound, no movement, no southern accent ya’ll…

Enter my friends Ashley and Matt with Dig-It-All Productions. After a good brainstorming session and a lot of homework for me, the plan was set. They were kind enough to come along on Ashley and Austin’s engagement session to document the process. It was important to me to shoot with real clients (not models) so that the relationship was authentic. The footage they captured during the shooting portion of the video is so true to life it’s scary. As I watched it for the first time I couldn’t help but laugh. I say some of the most spastic things during a shoot and laugh way more than I realize, but it is so truly me. That stuff really happens at my sessions!

We shot the interview portion a few days later. Against Matt’s recommendation, I didn’t prepare anything to say. I thought I would just wing it to come off more natural, but I ended up sweating profusely and laughing uncontrollably as soon as the camera was pointed my way. I really don’t know what came over me, but I wigged out being on the other side of the camera. Luckily Ashley and Matt are pros and patiently waited out my nervous energy. In the end, not having a script was the best move for me. The things I say in the video are 100% from the heart and add an element of realness to the final product. I plan to integrate the video into my website, but for now this will have to do… Enjoy!
