I am offically done with my “summer” sessions (woohoo!) and am taking a self-imposed three-week break to get caught up and have a little mental vacation before the craziness of the fall season starts. Don’t worry, I have enough to blog about for the next five years, so that will continue. If you are considering fall photos, now is the time to get on it! Since I said sayonara to Corporate America in the spring, I’ll be able to take a limited amount of weekday sessions this year. But those precious weekend session slots are filling up fast (like, there are only a couple left). But this is all beside the point…
While cleaning up my desktop and moving old files to an external hard drive, I was able to revisit this fun day with my cousin Melissa back in May. I posted the photos that I took of her as I demonstrated shooting manually and talked about some of my favorite lighting techniques. But I skipped right over the gems of photos that she took of me. Oh dear Lord, I can’t believe I’m actually about to share these with you fine folks. If you want to leave and never come back, I won’t hold it against you!
I have always talked with my hands. Maybe it is some sort of weird insecurity I don’t know about, but apparently I’m a little more animated then I realized! I’m sure I was talking about backlighting here and how to nail your exposure (which she did a good job on), but I don’t remember being so angry about it.

If anyone has any tips on getting rid of that permanent 11 on my forehead, I would be most appreciative. I’m much too young for botox!

Honestly, I can’t explain these next ones and won’t try… but know that this is the reason I stay on the back side of that camera! : )
