During pregnancy your eyes are ultimately set on the end — the day your baby arrives. But in the in-between, there are so many milestones to look forward to. After making the announcement, there are ultrasounds, first kicks, choosing a name, maternity photos, decorating the nursery and a baby shower. I realized today that with the passing of our baby shower on Sunday, all of the major milestones have been met, leaving only our daughter’s birth to make this little adventure complete. How exciting is that?!
On Sunday, my best girlfriends and aunt hosted the most amazing baby shower for us. We were blessed to be surrounded by an array of family and friends who came to shower us with love and support. I am still completely in awe of how much effort and hard work my friends put into everything and wanted to share a little of it here.

My friend Jill has become our diaper cake expert and her creativity never disapoints. The “cake” table was one of my favorite parts of the decor!

I created a signing book from our maternity photos for people to leave well wishes for the baby similar to the wedding guest signing books I offer to my couples. Since the shower was such a blur for me, it was fun to look back at it later that night. Plus, it is such a great keepsake for the baby.

How cute is this cupcake stand and little owl cupcake toppers? Oh, and if you wondered, yes, the cupcakes were DELICIOUS!

My mom has a wonderful talent for creating handmade paper products. In addition to making our baby shower invitations and thank you notes, she was able to put together some beautiful details for the shower. If you are planning a wedding, baby shower or birthday party and want unique invitations or favors, visit her brand new Etsy store or her website for more info! The invitation may be my favorite part:

I love, love, loved these owl party favors for the guests to take home.

The best part of her handmade work was the name banner she created announcing the baby’s name. The detail is absolutely amazing. I’m definitely going to have to find a space in the nursery for this piece.

My one regret is that I didn’t hire someone to take photos for us. I was silly to think that I could greet guests, mingle and snap shots of everyone along the way. Besides what we shot at the beginning and end, I didn’t leave with many photos. Here are the few I did get… me and my sweet sister-in-law (and friend!) Jacquelyn.

My long-time friend Crystal who surprised me and drove two hours to be there.

The newest addition to our growing brood – my friend Katie’s new baby girl, Liv.

Of course I had to get a photo of Liv and her soon-to-be bestie. As two of very few girls in our group of friends, we are banking on them being BFF.

The grandmothers-to-be (minus my step-mom Shelia who had to leave early).

And of course a group photo with my very sweet hostesses (L-R) Kristen, Robin, Aunt Becky, (me), Katie and Liv, Ashley, Jacquelyn, Jill and April. They went above and beyond to make the shower special for us, and I am forever grateful.
