Natalie and Jack were married on Saturday in what is likely to be one of my favorite weddings of the year! All of the small moments that took place throughout the wedding came together to make up the perfect day. We were blessed with one of those breathtakingly blue September days at one of Birmingham’s most gorgeous venues — Shoal Creek Country Club. Add to that a stunning bride and a laid back groom, and I was in photography heaven! It was so fun to watch Natalie and Jack through the day and see the love and emotion that poured out of not only them, but all of those around them. Needless to say, it was a beautiful day.
We started with Natalie at the Alabama Cottage on the grounds of Shoal Creek, shooting details as she got ready with her mom and maid of honor, Elise. I can’t say enough about how sweet those two were. Natalie’s mom went above and beyond for us that day, and we are so very grateful!
The perfect detail on a HOLY-SMOKES gorgeous dress!
As Natalie was getting the final touches, Jack and the boys were hanging out at the Shoal Creek Clubhouse, relaxing and watching football… of course!
Natalie and Jack’s first look was one of the sweetest I’ve seen. Jack could barely hold back as he heard Natalie’s footsteps approaching from behind. She let out a big excited yelp and grinned as big as ever. It was awesome!
LOVE this moment with Natalie’s son right as he patiently waited his turn for pictures!
The wedding ceremony was also held on the grounds of Shoal Creek, in the chapel adjacent to the country club. (Love me an all-inclusive venue!)
You know how people always say that the first thing they do after they catch a glimpse of the bride, is to look at the groom for his reaction? How priceless is this shot that Morgan captured of a guest doing just that!?
And finally… the RECEPTION! The reception was in the main clubhouse at Shoal Creek. Natalie and Jack’s wedding coordinator, Nancy, did a fantastic job putting together all of the details for them, and everything came together so nicely.
I couldn’t help but sneak Natalie and Jack outside for a few more photos before the real celebration began. I am SO glad that we took the time to do this. It was getting dark, so we had to work fast, but these are some of my favorites from the day! Sidenote: right behind me in these first two images is the last spot at which we ended their engagement session. Coming full circle on a wedding day is fun!
A big huge thanks to Morgan Trinker for shooting with me at the wedding. Several of the images above were taken by her :)
