Things have been a little crazy around our house for the last few weeks. I took off during the months of July and August (except for weddings and the occasional special event) for the second year in a row. It couldn’t have come at a better time for me personally. I have been uncharacteristically away from my office and my work as I soak lots of time with my family. If I’m being honest, it has been a nice break.
I realized earlier in the week that amidst my “break”, I hadn’t taken any photos of Ava lately — not even around-the-house snapshots, which is so unlike me. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we walked up the street toward the sound of a neighbor mowing the grass (the child LOVES lawn mowers), camera in hand. It’s nothing out of the ordinary — just a little snapshot of my right now that I’m so happy to have captured. (On a side note, we live at the end of a very quiet, low-traffic street. So don’t be alarmed by all of the walking and sitting in the road. The only danger was the rocks Ava wanted to eat.) Fall season is picking back up this week, so I’m sure I’ll have more to share soon. Thanks for stopping by even with my almost-two-week absence :) See you soon!

We found the lawn mower! And then proceeded to watch Jay cut the grass for 30 minutes. I’m sure he loved having an audience.

We have left the curiosity phase of seeing mom with a camera and have entered the “I’m so over it — photograph the back of my head instead” phase. Stubborn baby. I’m sure every photographer who is a parent has been here. She’ll grow out of it, right? RIGHT??

My sweet girl.
