As most of you know, I have been on maternity leave since the birth of our second baby. The time away from work has been a bit of a transition for me considering that I spent the last four or five years knee deep in shooting and editing and blogging and running my small business. Although I took some time off after Ava was born, I knew this time around had to be different. So when I finished my last 2012 wedding in December, I jumped head first into an extended maternity leave. These days you are more likely to find me taking photos of my own children in our everyday lives (though I am starting to ease back into client projects!), but as for now there is nothing else I’d rather be doing!
Although we had newborn photos made of Anna, a true lifestyle session is what I really wanted this time around. My friend Heather Knowles came over few weekends ago to photograph our family. I wanted the session to be laid back and truly capture what we would be doing on any given Saturday. While I do think there is a place for beautiful posed family “portraits”, I could not be happier with this glimpse into our everyday lives. I have included a lot of photos here, but I loved so many. And since I haven’t been blogging client sessions, I wanted to share with you where we have been and what we have been doing these last few months.
